Kansas City Southern has promoted Ginger Adamiak to vice president of energy, industrial development and commercial innovation, the Class I announced yesterday.

Adamiak previously served as VP of energy and short-line relations. Her promotion is part of the KCS' realignment of its commercial innovation and industrial development functions to create one organization focused on developing new revenue streams, said Executive VP and Chief Marketing Officer Brian Hancock in a press release.

Kansas City Southern promotes Walczak, Parkerson, Godderz

Kansas City Southern yesterday announced the appointments of Michael Walczak to vice president mechanical, Maquiling Parkerson to vice president labor relations and Adam Godderz to associate general counsel and corporate secretary.

Effective immediately, the appointments were made for professional advancement and organizational development, KCS officials said in a press release.

KCS partners with CloudMoyo to modernize railroad operating system

imageKansas City Southern plans to deploy the CloudMayo Rail Transportation Management system (CRTM) to modernize the Class I's operating system.Built on the CloudMoyo Transportation platform, the next-generation system will leverage the Microsoft Azure cloud and harness analytics and artificial intelligence to improve the railroad's operational efficiency and agility, KCS officials said in a press release.The Class I will phase in the CRTM over the next three years; each application will be tested before it's put into live service. KCS already uses CloudMoyo's crew management, business intelligence and advanced analytics."This initiative supports our performance and customer-focused efforts," said Mike Naatz, KCS' senior vice president operations support and chief information officer. "This partnership and deployment of the CRTM system will help KCS achieve new levels of operational efficiency."
