Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Parker yesterday promoted George Wright to deputy chief of rail operations.

Wright will oversee the agency’s rail transportation, rail-car maintenance, maintenance of way, stations and facilities, technical training and Atlanta Streetcar operations. 

He will report to MARTA’s Chief of Rail Operations David Springstead.

Wright has more than 20 years of transportation and logistics experience at public and private companies. Previously, he served as MARTA’s senior director of operations support services for three years.
