Metra informed passengers this morning of significant delays due to a partial derailment of a SouthWest Service train just south of Chicago Union Station late last night.Three cars of an eight-car Metra train derailed as it arrived at the station at about 10:50 p.m. The three cars remained upright; the other five plus the locomotive remained on the tracks, Metra officials said this morning in a press release.Three passengers were on the train at the time. No injuries were reported. The cause of the derailment has yet to be determined.Crews remained on site this morning to remove the train from the scene. Repairs will then be made to several switches damaged in the incident. The switches control a number of routes to the South Concourse platforms.
