Canadian Pacific raised more than CA$400,000 for homeless veterans through a Spin for a Veteran event, which raises funds for the Homes for Heroes Foundation.
All funds raised through the event, held Nov. 9-10, doubled the fundraising goal of CA$200,000, and brought the total dollars donated from the past four years to over CA$1.2 million. Each CA$100,000 builds one home, bringing CP's total to 12 homes since 2016, CP officials said in a press release.
Seven CP teams participated in this year's 24-hour spin competition. The team comprised of CP's military veterans won the competition, covering about 538.6 miles.
The Spin for a Veteran event was developed in response to the growing number of military veterans who have returned to civilian life and now face crisis, according to the event's website.Railroad News
