Austin's Cap Metro names Clarke president, CEO

The Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority's (Cap Metro) board in Austin, Texas, late last week named Randy Clarke president and chief executive officer.

The board is expected to approve Clarke's contract on Jan. 29, according to an agency press release.

Since April 2016, Clarke has served as vice president of operations and member services at the American Public Transportation Association. Before that, he held roles at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, including deputy chief operating officer and assistant general manager of engineering, maintenance and preparedness.

Cap Metro began the executive search in July 2017 after President and CEO Linda Watson announced plans to retire after more than seven years in the position.
