BLET, New England Central tentatively agree on new contract

imageThe Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) and New England Central Railroad (NECR) have reached a tentative agreement that would cover rates of pay, benefits and work rules for 35 operating employees. Ballots were mailed to active members and voting will conclude May 9, according to a BLET press release.Operating employees at NECR voted to join BLET in September 2004.The NECR is a Genesee & Wyoming Inc. subsidiary headquartered in St. Albans, Vermont. The railroad operates over 383 miles of leased and owned track.
