CN is now offering a mobile app for trucking companies that use certain CN intermodal terminals in Canada.

Known as ModalPass, the mobile app is aimed at making navigating CN intermodal terminals faster for trucking partners, according to the Class I’s website.

The app provides truck drivers their gate entry before arriving at the terminal. They can avoid booking, waybilling and reservation delays; complete gate entry from their cab; check if their container is available; and receive safety and information notifications from CN terminals, according to the website.

The app is another example of how the Class I “is digitizing operations in order to drive efficiency and add value for our customers and our supply partners," said Keith Reardon, CN’s senior vice president of consumer product supply chain growth, in a statement posted on the website.

ModalPass is available at CN terminals in Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta, and in Toronto. The railroad plans to expand the app to other facilities.
