Connecticut DOT to install security cameras at three Metro-North stations

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) late last week announced plans to install security cameras at MTA Metro-North Railroad stations in Darien, Norwalk and Westport, Connecticut.

The department determined the need for the cameras following "security improvements and network infrastructure upgrades," CTDOT officials said in a press release.

All the stations are located along the New Haven Line, which is owned by CTDOT.

The agency also plans to install security cameras on the railroad bridge crossing the Saugatuck River in Westport.

Construction is slated to start in fall 2019, assuming funding and coordination goes smoothly with the three towns.
