DCTA installs Holcomb as deputy CEO

The Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) has appointed Kristina Holcomb deputy chief executive officer.

She joined DCTA in 2007 and most recently served as vice president of strategic planning and development. Holcomb now will oversee the execution of the agency’s strategic initiatives, including capital project planning and delivery, and help advance mobility efforts in North Texas. She also will lead DCTA’s regional transportation infrastructure planning, land-use strategy, and state and federal public policy.

Holcomb leads DCTA’s partnerships with the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) regarding regional transportation planning efforts and the agency’s involvement in the 2045 Mobility Plan, a 25-year multimodal blueprint for meeting the mobility needs of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. She also chairs the NCTCOG Surface Transportation Technical Committee, which reviews and provides recommendations regarding surface transportation planning and the funding of area transportation improvements.

“As our responsibilities grow in the region, we must be focused on stakeholder engagement and respond to the needs of our communities,” said DCTA CEO Raymond Suarez in a press release. “With Kristina’s leadership and expertise in this new role, we will continue to strategically engage our member cities and regional and legislative stakeholders to ensure DCTA is a leader in advancing mobility solutions for North Texas.”

In 2016, Progressive Railroading named Holcomb one of 20 Rising Stars in the railroad industry.
