NJ Transit wraps up Cranford rail station rehab

New Jersey Transit has completed a $4 million platform rehabilitation and transit arts project at its Cranford commuter-rail station.

Funded by the New Jersey Transportation Trust Fund, the work included structural repairs, new windscreens and canopy replacements, along with new benches, marketing display cases and trash cans.

NJ Transit in November 2016 hired Anselmi & DeCicco Inc. to complete the project.

"This project is another example of the investments we are making to ensure safety and comfort for our customers at our facilities," said NJ Transit Executive Director Kevin Corbett.

The rehab project was completed ahead of schedule and more than $2 million under budget, according to the agency.

The Cranford station is served by the Raritan Valley Line.
