Progressive Railroading seeks nominations for Rising Stars 2018

Progressive Railroading today opened its nomination process for the sixth annual "Rising Stars" Awards, a recognition program for up-and-coming leaders in North America's railroad industry.

Progressive Railroading defines a Rising Star as someone under the age of 40 who is making a positive difference in his or her company, department or team, and is viewed by others — peers, colleagues, supervisors, clients or associates — as a rising star in the rail industry. Progressive Railroading will select 20 Rising Stars and publish their profiles in the September 2018 issue.

Also, the Rising Stars of 2018 will be honored at a recognition dinner on July 22, 2018, at the W Lakeshore Hotel in Chicago.

Nominees must be younger than 40 years of age on Sept. 1, 2018, and currently work in North America's railroad industry. Rising Star candidates must be willing to participate in our process, answer questions from Progressive Railroading staff and supply a photo for publication.

To nominate a Rising Star, fill out the nomination survey. Explain in a detailed, written statement how the nominee goes above and beyond to make difference in the railroad industry.

Candidates will be considered for recognition based on qualities such as their contributions to railroading, career achievements, demonstrated leadership, education and/or training, and professional association activity or community involvement.

The nomination deadline is Feb. 16, 2018. Nominations submitted after that date will not be considered for recognition in 2018. For more information, follow this link to submit a nomination, learn more about the dinner or read profiles of the 2017 winners.
