Rail supplier news from Rockwell Collins, Infinity Transportation, Americold, Greenbrier, The Andersons and Stress (Aug. 28)

New York, Susquehanna and Western Railway has chosen Rockwell Collins' ARINC RailwayNet platform for positive train control (PTC) implementation. The platform creates a common communication infrastructure for PTC solutions and allows for interoperability between short lines, commuter railroads and Class Is, according to a Rockwell Collins press release.

Infinity Transportation Logistics LLC (ITL) this fall will add new next-generation domestic refrigerated intermodal containers to its fleet in various lanes to and from Washington state and Oregon. The new units will more than double the company's existing fleet, ITL officials said in a press release. The fleet will be able to haul up to 44,000 pounds. Meanwhile, the company is adding staff to its Kansas City, Missouri, office due to increasing demand for temperature-controlled intermodal service, ITL officials said.

Americold Realty Trust has opened a facility in Middleborough, Massachusetts. The facility comprises three temperature-controlled rooms and a loading dock with 165,000 square feet of capacity. Designed in partnership with Ocean Spray, the building can rapidly freeze up to 79 million pounds of cranberries. The new site is Americold's fifth facility in Massachusetts.

The Greenbrier Cos. Inc. has promoted Lorie Tekorius to executive vice president and chief operating officer. In the newly created role, she'll lead the company's wheels, parts and repair operating unit. Tekorius also will be responsible for human resources and corporate safety and security, Greenbrier officials said in a press release. She previously served as executive VP and chief financial officer.

The Andersons Inc. has named Stephen Dowdle to its board effective Sept. 1. He is former president of sale for PotashCorp, which merged with Agrium Inc. to form Nutrien in January 2018. Before the merger, Dowdle oversaw sales, marketing and distribution of PotashCorp's potash, phosphate and nitrogen products. During the merger, he served as a senior adviser providing transition assistance for sales operations.

Stress Engineering Services has hired Michael Landgraf as a staff consultant. He previously spent 17 years at HBM-nCode in Southfield, Michigan, where he focused on customer data analysis systems that process, analyze and report on field data, according to a Stress press release. His experience also includes data analysis, data acquisition, health and usage monitoring systems, durability analysis and vehicle testing.
