TKDA added Justin Hicks to its rail division. He has 10 years of experience as a designer and manager on an array of rail projects. Hicks has designed freight yard, mainline and industrial rail trackage; been involved in intermodal and port master planning projects; and has generated designs for a variety of other transportation infrastructure projects, TKDA officials said in a press release.

Wabtec Corp. recently delivered 10 ES30ACi Light Evolution Series locomotives to the Egyptian National Railways (ENR) and Ministry of Transportation, the first stage in fulfilling order and services agreements reached in 2017. The new locomotives will enable ENR to meet growing demand for an efficient transport system capable of supporting the country’s development plans, Wabtec officials said in a press release. Equipped with 12-cylinder, 3,200-horsepower engines, the locomotives feature air-conditioned dual cabs, AC propulsion systems, single-axle control and dynamic brakes to transport either freight or passengers.

Teleste Corp. announced it will deliver an onboard video surveillance system solution for 22 of Stadler’s electrical multiple units (EMU) for the Public Transport Administration Stockholm in Sweden. Teleste’s solution integrates onboard and central video surveillance systems. The company’s indoor security cameras and video recorders offer a live camera view with 24-hour access on each vehicle, as well as video storing.

Gradall has marked its 75th anniversary. The original Gradall excavator was created in 1944 by two Cleveland-based contractors and brothers, Ray and Koop Ferwerda, to replace hand labor. Unlike cable-operated construction equipment that dominated U.S. equipment manufacturing until the late 1950s, the first Gradall machines were fully hydraulic, Gradall officials said in a press release.

Icomera opened a new office in Toronto dedicated to supporting its Canadian operations. Previously, Icomera served its Canadian operations from its headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland. The location will function as a project office for providing Wi-Fi to GO Transit and other transportation operators.

VisioStack Inc. entered into an agreement with Rumo to provide data management and analytics services to the Brazil-based logistics provider through the RailLinks® platform. Rumo offers rail transportation, port elevations and warehousing services over 8,700 miles of track. The cloud-based solution will help inform Rumo when and where track maintenance should be performed, VisioStack officials said in a press release.
