The Regional Transportation District of Denver (RTD) this month will host eight public meetings to provide an update on its fare pass program study and proposed changes to fare policies.

The meetings will take place throughout the Denver metropolitan area between July 16 and 26.

In February, the pass program working group wrapped up a yearlong study and made a host of recommendations to be evaluated by RTD's board.

The group's recommendations include adding a low-income pass, which would provide a 40 percent discount to qualifying riders; adding a youth pass for riders ages 13 to 19; and retaining the agency's CollegePass program.

At the upcoming meetings, RTD staff will provide an overview of the working group's recommendations and field questions from the public, agency officials said in a press release.
