Secure Rail adds sessions to conference lineup

Two educational sessions have been added to the Secure Rail Conference scheduled for April 24-25 in Orlando, Florida, the event's organizers announced today.

The additional sessions are titled "What Happens After the Assessment? A VRE Case Study;" and "Evaluating the Effects of Cybersecurity Measures."

The case study will examine the experience of Virginia Railway Express (VRE) after undergoing a vulnerability assessment performed by RPI Group Inc. The case study will be presented from three perspectives: risk mitigation, management and implementation. RPI Group representatives will discuss how participants working together led the team to success with this project. Additionally, they will examine the problems faced and how they were overcome.

The second new session will address the cybersecurity testbed for railroad transportation systems developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technologies (NIST). The testbed is designed to measure the performance impact on railroad operations equipped with cybersecurity measures.

Presented by Progressive Railroading, the conference will be held at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, Florida.
