UP earns vehicle logistics firm’s service performance award

imageWallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics Vehicle Services Americas Inc. (WWL) recently presented its President’s Award to Union Pacific Railroad. WWL is the primary North American logistics service provider for Nissan vehicles. The award recognizes UP’s efforts to provide reliable and efficient rail service, and superior customer service, WWL officials said in a press release. “[We] have a long-standing relationship with WWL and appreciate being a part of its global shipping and logistics solutions for the automotive industry," said Jason Hess, UP’s vice president and general manager-premium. The Class I serves vehicle assembly plants that connect to West Coast ports and the Port of Houston, accommodating both import and export shipments. UP operates or accesses more than 40 vehicle distribution centers that cover most major western U.S. cities.
