Wabtec acquires Workhorse Rail

Wabtec Corp. has purchased Workhorse Rail LLC, an engineered freight-car component supplier based in Pittsburgh.

Workhorse has annual sales of about $35 million. The company supplies freight-car couplers, knuckles and related parts to Class Is and freight-car manufacturers.

"Workhorse Rail brings an excellent reputation, strong engineering capabilities and new products to our portfolio," said Wabtec President and Chief Executive Officer Raymond Betler in a press release. "In addition, we believe Wabtec's geographic presence and aftermarket footprint will provide opportunities to expand Workhorse Rail's customer base in North America and globally."
