The Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) yesterday was awarded the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement (AEP) from the National Procurement Institute Inc. (NPI) for the fourth consecutive year.

The AEP award is given annually to public and nonprofit organizations that demonstrate  innovation, professionalism, productivity and leadership in procurement functions. Recipients are scored based on standardized criteria, DCTA officials said in a press release.

“This recognition ... showcases the hard work and dedication of our procurement team consistently maintaining a consultative approach which enables us to better manage the expenditure of public funds," said DCTA Chief Financial Officer Marisa Perry.

DCTA operates the A-train, a 21-mile commuter-rail line connecting the Texas counties of Denton and Dallas.
