The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (NORTA) next week will partially close the St. Charles streetcar line as crews begin replacing catenary poles.

The poles must be replaced as a result of corrosion.

During this work, the streetcar line will be closed from South Carrollton Avenue and Claiborne Avenue to St. Charles Avenues and Jenna Street in New Orleans, NORTA officials said in a press release.

A bus service will service the closed section until repairs are completed in mid-September.
