TransLink survey shows support for Surrey Langley SkyTrain
The proposed Surrey Langley SkyTrain project would extend the Expo Line from Surrey to Langley along the Fraser highway.Photo – TransLinkTransLink last week announced that 85 percent of residents in Surrey and Langley, British Columbia, who responded to a survey support a proposed SkyTrain line extension from the King George Station in Surrey to Langley.
Last month, TransLink collected 21,267 survey responses, with nearly 17,000 from residents in Surrey and Langley, according to a TransLink press release.
Of those residents surveyed, 85 percent indicated support for the proposed project, including 82 percent of Surrey residents, 90 percent of Langley city residents and 92 percent of Langley Township residents.
Eighty-four percent of those surveyed from other regions in metro Vancouver indicated support for the Surrey Langley SkyTrain.
The survey also asked the public to rank values for consideration in rapid transit planning. The top three values included predictable transit travel time, efficient use of public money and a comfortable and safe experience.
