USD Partners acquires crude-oil terminal in Oklahoma

USD Partners LP has acquired a crude-oil terminal in Stroud, Okla., for $25 million, the company announced yesterday.

The terminal will be used for rail-to-pipeline shipments of crude oil from USD Partners' Hardisty terminal in western Canada to the oil hub in Cushing, Okla., according to a company press release.

CHSRA pledges $115 million for L.A. Regional Connector rail project

The California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) is providing nearly $115 million for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority's (Metro) Regional Connector rail project.

The funds come from Proposition 1A bonds, which California voters approved in 2008. California Senate Bill 1029, which was signed into law in 2012, allocated the funds for the Metro project, CHSRA spokeswoman Adeline Yee said in an email.

ConnDOT to begin interlocking, dockyard projects in October

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (ConnDOT) will begin two interlocking and dockyard projects in October rather than July to accommodate planned activities associated with the projects.

The CP243 Interlocking Project and the Danbury Branch Dockyard are independent of the planned Walk Railroad Bridge replacement, but must be completed in advance of the bridge work. The interlocking project will improve the operations on the New Haven Line during construction of the new bridge while the dockyard project will improve dependability of operations and minimize impacts to commuter rail services during bridge construction.

CSX shareholders approve CEO Harrison's reimbursement

CSX Corp. shareholders attending the company's annual meeting yesterday approved an $84 million compensation package for E. Hunter Harrison to serve as chief executive officer. 

The payment package was associated with Harrison's decision to join the company as its top executive earlier this year. Harrison had said he would not serve if shareholders did not approve the payment package.

Iowa DOT solicits responses to freight plan amendment

The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) is seeking public comments on an amendment to the State Freight Plan through July 16.The department has been working on changes to align the plan with the federal reauthorization law known as the Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act.Changes under consideration include aligning the plan with the latest national freight goals, identifying critical urban and rural freight corridors, and highlighting the Iowa DOT's plan for using National Highway Freight Program funds, department officials said in a press release.The state plan was "heavily influenced" by the Iowa's Freight Advisory Council of industry representatives, Iowa's nine metropolitan planning organizations, 18 regional planning affiliations and other interested stakeholders, DOT officials said.To view the plan, click on this link.
